Track Sessions
From October to February we join Pace Running at Antrim Forum for track work. We run 2 twice a month. Sessions are structured, with warm-up and cool-down with coaches from both County Antrim Harriers and Pace Running. This is great opportunity to run on a dedicated athletics track with another club.
Sprint Work
Basically sprints. Run your guts out. Simple.
Hill Work
At CAH hills pay the bills. Ballyclare is blessed with a several hills of differing length and gradient. Hill work consists of structured hill running/jogging at set paces. Along with strengthening, hill work is excellent for cardio work.
Grass Sessions
This is a 10 week session exclusively run on grass. Why? Conditioning. A different surface and experience from road and trail running. Works and strengthens muscle groups in a different (but good) way.
- Warm up run/walk
- Gentle stretching
- Repeats
- Stretching and cool-down
Repeats vary between sessions.
For example, 5 reps of 30 seconds fast, 1 minute normal pace, 90 seconds slow or walk. Grass sessions are led by a Club Coach. Pyramids etc.
New to the club?
Come along to any group run. There’s an option for every pace, so nobody runs alone.
