1. About cookies

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let the site remember things, such as that you are logged in, or that you have already answered the cookie banner.

County Antrim Harriers follows the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and UK GDPR. In practice that means two things:

  • Strictly necessary cookies are set without asking, because the site cannot work without them.
  • All other cookies are set only if you opt in. Nothing optional is set until you choose.

This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle any personal data that cookies collect.

2. Cookies and the members area

The members area cannot work without cookies. Logging in through single sign-on (SSO) relies on session cookies that prove who you are as you move between pages.

These login cookies are strictly necessary. That means:

  • You do not need to accept optional cookies to log in. Choosing "Reject all" on the banner still lets you use the members area.
  • If you block all cookies in your browser settings, you will not be able to log in or view member-only content.
  • Public pages work without any cookies at all.

Login cookies are used only to keep you signed in and to protect your account. They are not used for analytics or tracking.
